This sleeping beauty is Samuel and his mum and dad selected my giant wooden bowl to incorporate into his session from my prop selection.
This is one of my most popular props – I think because it is so versatile as we can customise it with almost any colour or accessory and it looks great. In this case, we wanted to include some flowers but also some blue to keep it boyish but I’ve dressed it to match the season, in a mermaid theme, as a birth announcement – the possibilities are endless!
We always start a newborn photo shoot working on my giant beanbag as this is a cosy and comfy place to get your little one off into a deep sleep but you also have the choice to incorporate a prop into your photo shoot. Not everyone wants to do this of course and it’s certainly not obligatory – some folk like to keep it simple and the photos look just as great this way too. I send you an email the day before your session so that you can let me know what you would like – that way I can have everything set up in advance of your session so we don’t waste a moment!

Newborn photo shoots are best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old—this is when they’re at their sleepiest and curliest, perfect for capturing those beautifully serene images. To ensure you don’t miss out, I recommend booking while you’re still pregnant—we’ll set a provisional date for a week after your due date and adjust if needed once your baby arrives.
Your session takes place in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down, designed for your baby’s comfort. The shoot is relaxed, unrushed, and includes three digital images of your choice, all for £95. There’s no sales session—just a private online gallery where you can view and select your favourites at your own pace.
