This little shot of parents’ hands in a heart around their new arrival’s feet is a very commonly requested shot and it’s easy to see why.
It’s cute in it’s own right but also a good way to be in photos if you don’t feel fully camera ready. However, it’s one of those shots that looks cute in the edited version but looks pretty daft when you’re setting it up – thought you might like to see the pull-back of how we set it up. The mum gets the easier of the two options as she can kneel down behind the beanbag while the dad has to do a weird kind of crouching leaning over position to get into place then I just arrange your hands to look like a heart once we get there!
As with many things in my studio, it’s a bit silly behind the scenes to get a great result in camera. Probably not a bad metaphor for my life either…
It’s often the tiniest details that take your breath away.
Those perfect little fingers curled around yours. Tiny toes that fit in the palm of your hand. In newborn photography, capturing hands and feet isn’t just about completing the picture—it’s about preserving the precious details that change so quickly. These gentle close-ups add so much heart to your gallery, and they often become the images families treasure most.
Newborn Photography in East Grinstead
Newborn photo shoots are best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old—this is when they’re at their sleepiest and curliest, perfect for capturing those beautifully serene images. To ensure you don’t miss out, I recommend booking while you’re still pregnant—we’ll set a provisional date for a week after your due date and adjust if needed once your baby arrives.
Your session takes place in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down, designed for your baby’s comfort. The shoot is relaxed, unrushed, and includes three digital images of your choice, all for £95. There’s no sales session—just a private online gallery where you can view and select your favourites at your own pace.
