Planning Your Baby’s Studio Session (0-5 Months)
Timeless milestone baby photography in Crawley Down
Looking for beautiful studio photography for your baby between 0 and 5 months old? These milestone sessions capture the sweetest stage — from gummy smiles to first tummy times — in a calm, baby-led studio setting. Based in Crawley Down, I specialise in relaxed, natural portraits for babies and families across West Sussex and the surrounding areas.
What to Expect at This Age
Between 0 and 5 months, babies are learning their very first skills such as finding their hands and feet, and getting used to tummy time not to mention all those gorgeous gummy smiles. We work with whatever they’re up to, all my sessions are baby-led there’s no pressure to perform.
For Families Too
These sessions aren’t just for babies — I always include a mix of images with parents and siblings if you’d like. Family portraits at this age tend to feel natural and connected, especially as babies start to engage and show their personalities.
Welcome! If you’ve landed here from Pinterest, you’re in exactly the right place to start planning your baby’s milestone session.
Babies between 0 and 5 months are still tiny but they’re learning all about the world incredibly fast and you can see their skills develop on almost a daily basis. Whether they’re happy lying down, on their tummy or playing with their hands and feet, this stage is about capturing their personalities starting to shine.
Session Style Options
There are a few ways we can style your session, depending on your baby’s stage and personality – we have time for three different sections so you can keep it all one style or mix and match – whatever takes your fancy!
Simple & Classic – Keep all our work on the posing beanbag with blanket backdrops.
Backdrops & Props – If your baby is already confident on their tummy, then we can include backdrops and props from my curated range.
Seasonal Themes – A subtle nod to the season with set design or prop accents.
Fine Art Portraits – A timeless feel, styled to let your baby’s personality shine through.

What to Bring
Nappies and all the usual baby stuff, snacks, and a favourite toy for comfort.
Any personal outfits you’d like included (you’re welcome to use studio pieces too). I recommend up to three.
A plain vest or bodysuit is perfect for some of the simpler setups.
