The holiday season is the perfect time to capture memories with a Christmas mini session. These are undoubtedly the biggest event that I hold at the studio every year and they always sell out in record time to create a week packed with all sorts of festive fun!
With three festive sets to choose from, these mini sessions make for the perfect family tradition, holiday gift, or keepsake to cherish for years to come. Whether it’s your first time or you’ve done this before, here’s everything you need to know to book your session and get the most out of Christmas mini photo shoots.
Step 1: Choose Your Session Date and Time
Booking your Christmas mini session is simple. You’ll be able to select your preferred date and time once the calendar opens (8am on October 1st). Sessions tend to fill up fast, so pop a note in your diary to get on the website then to secure your spot and ensure you get the perfect time for your family. I need to take the £35 payment at the time of booking but you’ll get a link with all of the info when you’ve reserved your session.
Step 2: What’s Included in Your Session?
Your session includes access to all of my three festive sets and the sets are designed brand new every year so you can keep coming back and creating completely unique images. Last year, I had…
- Bedtime
- Flat Bed Truck
- Winter Porch
- Digital Snow Globe
You’ll receive one digital image with your session, which can be downloaded, printed, and shared. Additional images are available at £15 each, or you can download all your gallery images for £50 if you simply love them all and can’t decide!
Step 3: Preparing for Your Mini Session
Preparation is key to a smooth session! The ideal age for mini session participants is children who can sit up unassisted. Unfortunately, these sessions aren’t suitable for newborns or younger children who need additional settling time.
Wear comfortable, coordinated outfits that reflect the festive mood and there’s always time for outfit changes. I always publish the three sets at the end of September so you have time to plan for the perfect festive get up. We’ll capture the magic of your family in these beautiful sets, so be ready to enjoy your time with a relaxed, fun atmosphere. Check out my What to Wear guide for helpful tips.
Step 4: On the Day of Your Session
Arrive at the studio on time—there’s no need to come early plus these sessions run back to back so it’s really helpful to me not to have too much crossover with cars on the drive —to make sure everything runs smoothly. If you’re running late, just let me know, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. The studio is not wheelchair accessible, so please keep this in mind when planning your visit.

Step 5: After the Session
A few days after your session, you’ll receive a private gallery where you can view and select your digital image(s). No viewing session is needed—everything is streamlined online for your convenience. You’ll have the option to purchase additional images or print products directly from the gallery so all you need to do is turn up, enjoy yourselves, jingle your Christmas bells and then order whatever you’d like to make the perfect set of Christmas gifts and cards for your friends and family.
