a newborn sleeping on a white bed swaddles in a blue wrap

Since I’ve introduced my natural newborn set – which comprises a bed set and Moses basket – it’s been gaining in popularity.

I still love the traditional beanbag set up and all of the fun props that I have in my collection and so it will never replace that but it’s all about giving my clients options and I’ve definitely noticed the words ‘neutral’, ‘natural’ and ‘lifestyle’ coming up more and more on the options forms that I receive before a session.  So it made sense to create something new for folk who still wanted professional newborn photography quality with an ‘at home’ feel to it.

That’s exactly what the Natural Newborn set is about.  I still use the same great quality lighting and all of my posing experience but there’s generally a little less intervention and your newborn won’t be stripped down further than their nappy and even then it’s mostly just to get them in a cosy swaddle.  It’s a great style to pick if you want to join in yourself or if there are siblings that want to get in on the act as all they have to do is get onto the bed and there’s lots of ways to feature younger children with the new arrival without it feeling too strange of them or having to worry about them offering support.

Of course, if you still want to use the props and different options, then the traditional newborn photography is still there.  Like I say, it’s all about options!
