So it’s coming up to Christmas time and people are starting to think about booking portrait photo shoots to create the perfect Christmas gift.  They do indeed make amazing Christmas presents so I’d definitely recommend it!

However, I have changed the way that I offer portraits in the studio by splitting session types into full and mini sessions and this perhaps warrants a little bit of an explanation to help you to make the decision about which one is right for you.

You can watch the video to get the full scoop but basically a full portrait session gives you a choice of up to three backdrops, three outfits and as many different family groupings as you’d like.  It’s £95 including three digital images.   A mini portrait session is really designed to be very short and simple – you get one outfit, one backdrop and only one family grouping.  It includes one digital image and costs £45.

So lets create an example of a family who visit the studio as a group of four, two adults and two children. At a full portrait shoot, they can change outfits and backdrops up to three times and also mix and match the family images that we create – so they could create images of all four of them, just the kids together, the kids separately etc.  At a mini portrait shoot, they would have one outfit and one backdrop but they would also only choose one family group to capture – so they might choose to create images of all four of them together.  We would of course have different poses but the group remains the same.

Hopefully this gives you a bit more information when you’re deciding which portrait photo shoot type is right for you and what you want to achieve with your session.
