If there’s a blackberry ripening anywhere in the Snow Forest, Tuppence will find it. His little paws move faster than his shadow, and his snuffling nose never misses a scent. Some say he has a built-in berry compass; others say he just really, really likes pudding.
The Great Forager
Every morning, Tuppence sets off on his rounds — over roots, under brambles, and through the drifted snow — checking his favourite spots. He keeps a careful record in his head of what’s ripe, what’s ready, and what needs another day. “Efficiency is everything,” he mutters between mouthfuls.
Sharing the Spoils
Tuppence isn’t greedy (well, not very). Once he’s had his taste, he makes sure his forest friends get their share too. Clarence often credits him for keeping the winter larder stocked, and Niblet calls him “a marvel of logistics.” Lingonberry just calls him “late for tea.”
A Hedgehog with Purpose
When snow covers the ground and the forest grows quiet, Tuppence doesn’t hibernate like other hedgehogs. He stays awake to ensure no one goes without. You might spot him dragging a berry-laden twig behind him or shaking snow from a stubborn bush. His prickles may look sharp, but his heart is as soft as the moss he sleeps on.
Ever Snuffling, Ever Kind
If you wander through the Snow Forest and find neat little tracks leading to a half-empty berry patch, you’ve likely missed him by minutes. He’s probably already off to the next one, humming cheerfully and leaving just enough for the next hungry friend.
