Lots of folk can feel intimidated about booking a photo shoot for themselves and worried that they’re going to be shy in front of the camera.
However, I think maternity photo shoots are the least taxing possible for the mum to be. In the nicest possible sense, you are basically there to accessorise the star of the show – your bump!
It’s a relaxed and fun session where you’re encouraged to take your time and relax as we create your pregnancy images. The style is totally dictated by you so you can be as clothed or unclothed as you like – there’s never any pressure to do anything when you’re in my studio. In the case of this session, the mum to be wanted to mix and match some fully clothed shots along with some bare bump images and I was more than happy to oblige.
I’ve done lots of these sessions over the years and it’s always a pleasure to see new mums when they’ve decided to take the plunge and have their pregnancy photos professionally captured. There can always be a few nerves at the start of the session when they’re not quite sure what to expect or how to pose but with a little bit of gentle guidance, it absolutely always turns into a fun session where they’re posing like professionals and glowing with confidence! If you’re on the fence, then I’d say go for it. I mean, I’m a professional photographer so I guess that’s to be expected but genuinely, I think you’ll love the experience and treasure the images.

My maternity sessions are very flexible affairs with my studio booked for an hour so we have plenty of time to create a really varied image gallery. You’re invited to select up to three backdrops and include up to three outfit changes so you can mix and match styles to create the perfect set of pregnancy memories.
I recommend booking your session between 28-36 weeks so you’re still comfortable and you’re also welcome to borrow any of my gorgeous maternity photo shoot dresses while you’re in the studio. You select your pictures and order any more that you would like directly from your online gallery, there’s no sales or viewing session to attend.
