Granted, I’ve only just met Freddie but he does strike me as a little man who really knows how to party.  He was certainly living his best life when he came to visit the studio for a cake smash photo shoot to celebrate his first birthday.

He had a lovely cake in shades of blue with a grey topper which we coordinated with my grey damask background and blue bunting in order to tie it all together.  I always keep a stock of little wooden spoons just like the one you can see Freddie gleefully clutching in this photo.  Not all babies are fans of getting messy hands and sometimes they can struggle to engage with the cake or know quite what’s expected of them – they don’t get plonked down in front of a cake too often.  However, hand them a spoon and all of a sudden they can understand that they are meant to be eating. Not that Freddie need a whole lot of encouragement but they can be useful and fun to have in the photos in either case!
