A while ago I posted about some really cool jungle themed cake decorations that a client of mine had used when they came to visit.

They were so good that I actually thought that they’d had their cake professionally made so I made sure I got the details and shared them on here (you can use the button below to see the original post).  I just love to find hacks and tricks to make life a little bit easier when you’re coming to visit – you already have your hands full with a one year old anyway so if there’s a shortcut to success then you can be that I’m going to share it.

Anyway, my blog posts are a funny thing. I sit at my desk here in West Sussex and just type out whatever is in my head and send it on out into the world with no idea really if anyone actually reads it.  So I was delighted when  a recent client said that she’d bought that set for her cake smash as she’d seen it on my website and it had really made her life a little bit easier!

She’d also taken another piece of advice that I’ve given in the past in that she’d bought two plain madeira cakes in the supermarket and simply put them together and iced them to make the cake itself.  It really can work out cheaper than buying a ready iced cake off the shelf plus you get to choose the colour of the icing that you’d like to add.  I think you’ll agree that it all worked out perfectly in the finished images!

The other great thing about these sets is, as they’re not edible, you can reuse them on your child’s actually birthday cake if you’re having a jungle themed party so you get twice as much out of your investment.  That’s the kind of thrifty that I like!
