The first year of a baby’s life is full of quiet but constant change. What feels familiar one week can look completely different just a few weeks later.
For parents, this year often passes in a blur of new experiences. Photographs become a way of holding on to the moments that would otherwise disappear almost as quickly as they arrive.
While there is no single “perfect” time for baby photos, there are a few stages during the first year that naturally capture different aspects of your baby’s development and personality.

First birthday portraits
By the time a baby reaches their first birthday, they are usually full of movement and character. First birthday portraits often celebrate how far your baby has come in a single year. At this stage babies may be:
• crawling or starting to stand
• laughing and interacting easily
• exploring their environment with confidence
Some families choose simple portraits, while others include a small celebration such as a cake or splash session.
What is the Baby Photography Club?
The Baby Club is a simple, no-cost way to capture your baby’s incredible first-year journey through three beautifully timed studio sessions. From tiny toes at four months, to sitting tall at eight, and birthday cake-smashing at twelve — it’s all about documenting your baby’s milestones while keeping the experience relaxed and fun. There’s no upfront fee to join and you can choose a free digital image from each session or a framed keepsake at the end of the year. It’s an easy, pressure-free way to build your baby’s story in photos — one milestone at a time.
