Babies and Tights and Photo Shoots

So this blog post is titled Babies and Tights and Photo Shoots which is really oddly specific but it does convey an accurate message about what we’re talking about today!

Obviously it’s super important that your baby is warm and one of the ways that you do that normally is by popping a pair of tights or socks (we’re going to cover socks a bit too!) on them.  In fact, quite a lot of outfits come with matching tights.

Now I’m not anti tights in general, but they can be a little bit of a problem at photo shoots.  On smaller babies, they tend not to fit very well and can bag at the feet or on the legs giving a kind of Nora Batty vibe.  If I’m honest, they’re not a great look when it comes to photos where as baby feet are very cute.  The studio will be nice and warm for you and so I’d recommend bare legs if your baby is wearing a dress.  If the tights or socks are important to the look though obviously that’s totally fine but I’d encourage you to find a pair that fit really neatly.

Obviously however, this can mean that there’s a good chance in a dress that the nappy is going to show so if we’re going with a dress where this is likely then I’d also recommend a nappy cover a little pair of knickers or bloomers as well. That way, we don’t spend half the session rearranging the dress to hide up the nappy and we get to see those adorable baby thighs.  Winning all the way round!
