These sessions are one of my quiet favourites. This family actually comes in every year to update their photographs, and I’ve known the children since they were tiny.
Long before these portraits, I photographed their parents’ wedding – when the oldest girl was a flower girl and the oldest boy was still a toddler.
That’s one of the lovely things about long-term photography relationships. The images don’t exist in isolation. They become a timeline. Annual sessions don’t need a big concept or milestone attached to them. They’re simply about recording how children grow, how relationships change, and how personalities emerge year by year. The consistency of a clean studio setup makes those changes even more meaningful – you see them, not the background.
