September means new uniforms, and this year’s starting school event did not disappoint. A bumper crop of children through the door — some heading into reception for the very first time, others moving up to a new school and wanting to mark it just the same. New uniform, new chapter, same idea.
The school portrait set has everything it needs, the old wooden desk and chair, the globe, the abacus, the colourful letter blocks, the height chart, the year board. It looks like a classroom, it gives the photos a clear sense of time and place, and it works just as well for a five-year-old starting reception as it does for a ten-year-old in a new senior school blazer.
Every child brought something different to it. Some sat perfectly. Some needed a minute. Some had very clear ideas about how they wanted to be in the photo. All of them got there.
The starting school event runs every year and includes all the images for £35. If you’ve got a school starter coming up, or a child changing schools and a new uniform worth documenting, keep an eye on the website for next year’s dates.
