Lifestyle newborn sessions are a bit different to a standard newborn shoot. Most of the session takes place on the white bed, with some time in the moses basket, and the focus is on soft, natural images rather than posed prop shots.
We don’t undress babies for these sessions, but a nappy cover lets you see that newborn skin without the baby being fully stripped – which suits a lot of families and indeed a lot of babies. You still get all the detail of those tiny hands and that squished sleeping face. Just with a little more warmth.
This little one was around ten days old and slept beautifully throughout. The gold wrap against all that white kept it simple and worked really well.
Lifestyle sessions are still fully customisable – you choose your colours, and the whole family is welcome to get involved. It’s a relaxed way to spend a morning in the studio and the results tend to feel a bit quieter and more natural as a result.
