These two are a good example of why sibling photos are worth doing at any age, not just when there’s a newborn involved. Matching outfits, the armchair, and a big brother who was clearly taking his responsibilities very seriously.

The most common reason families come to the studio is a specific milestone. A new baby, a first birthday, a child starting school. These are the obvious ones, and they’re obvious for good reason because they genuinely don’t come around again.
But some of the best sessions I do are ones where there isn’t a particular occasion. Families who just want a photo of their children together at this age, before they look completely different. Children grow faster than you expect and the version of them that exists right now won’t be around for long.
Professional photos aren’t about creating something formal or stiff. They’re about having something that actually looks like your family, taken properly, that you’ll be glad exists in ten years’ time.

Sessions at the studio are tailored to your family rather than following a fixed format. I work with families of up to two adults and three children, and the smaller group size means I can give proper attention to everyone rather than trying to herd a large group. Within a session there’s time to do individual shots, sibling combinations, and full family groups, so you end up with a good range of images rather than just one setup repeated.
The sessions that tend to work best are the ones where people have thought a little about what they’d like to come away with. It doesn’t need to be complicated. Coordinated outfits rather than matching ones, a sense of the colours you’d like in the finished images, whether you want something more classic or something more relaxed. I’ll guide you through the rest on the day.
