School Photo Shoots in the Studio
School photos are available in the studio – £35 for a session including all the images!
- Did your child miss their slot due to holiday or illness?
- Do you have kids at different schools and want them photographed together?
- Do you not like the photo you got from the school?

School photos are an annual tradition for many families but there are lots of reasons why you might not want to purchase the ones that are taken in your child’s school.
When it comes to photos taken in a school setting, photographers are working with an immense workload and under really tight timelines. They essentially get one click of the camera and then they have to move on to the next child to keep everything on schedule. Meaning no disrespect but in most cases it’s a ‘quantity versus quality’ affair. You might not love or want to purchase a photo were your child isn’t looking their happiest or best and then, in terms of that service, you’ve lost the chance for the year.
Instead of taking what you’re given, you can book into the studio for a School Photo Session. It is a simple mini photo shoot against a plain white background and it’s suitable for up to two children who can be photographed both separately and together. Just bring along your child or children already dressed in their school uniform and looking smart, and I’ll take care of the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions
Have a browse below at the most common questions I get asked about School Photos in my studio but of course, I’m always happy to help if you don’t find what you’re looking for here so just get in touch.
No, I don’t hold viewing or sales appointments. Your finished images are included in the session fee and will be sent to you digitally at print quality, ready for you to use however you like. No hard sell, no pressure – just simple, straightforward portraits.

I’ll send your finished images to you digitally, usually within a week so they’ll be with you ready to print or made into keepsakes very soon after your session.
Yes! Lots of parents choose this session for nursery-age children or home-schooled children, as well as for older ones who may have missed photo day.
These sessions are designed to be just like school portraits – simple, child-focused, and quick. If you’d like a family portrait, I’d recommend booking one of my full family sessions where there’s plenty of time to include everyone.
School portrait sessions are short and sweet — usually around 10 minutes, perfect for little ones (or impatient older ones!).
No, it’s available all year round. Whether you’ve missed school photo day or just prefer a professional studio option, you can book anytime.
No – all the finished images are included in the £35 session fee at print quality, so you can print your favourites for yourselves and share them however you like.
Yes, absolutely! If you’d like a school-style portrait of brothers and sisters together, I’m happy to photograph them at the same time. It doesn’t matter if they go to the same school or not – in fact, have kids at different schools but still wanting them photographed together is one of the main reason why people visit. They’ll be photographed both together and separately at your session.
Yes – I hold an up-to-date DBS check. It’s part of making sure parents feel reassured when bringing their children to the studio.

Any digital images that you purchase will be sized at 10×8″ at 300ppi in JPEG format as standard. This is perfect for printing up to this size or slightly larger (you have more flexibility on size when it comes to canvases as they are printed at a lower resolution).
If you know you want to print significantly larger than this, you can upgrade your digital images to be larger file sizes and they will be sent to you on USB drive – just check your gallery pricing for the options here.
One little note though – always back up your USBs – they’re aren’t the most reliable technology for long term storage.

I kindly ask that you don’t take photos or videos during your session. Your booking includes my time, skill and copyright, and recording in the studio can interrupt the flow of your shoot. If anyone is seen filming or photographing, the session will need to be stopped and will end without refund – and that’s not a situation any of us want to be in. Please relax, enjoy the experience, and let me take care of creating the images for you.
