You never quite know how a first birthday session is going to go, and that’s what makes them so good. But this moment might be my favourite of all time.
That particular look when it dawns on them that the cake is not off limits. That it’s actually theirs. All of it. To poke, prod, smoosh, and taste to their heart’s content.
This little one captured it perfectly. Hands to cheeks, big wide eyes, pure disbelief. She could not believe her luck. Honestly, neither could I. What a star.
