Most of my work is with newborns, babies and families but I also shoot teenage birthday parties and they are always a real treat when they come along. From the warmth and quiet calm of a newborn photo shoot, I have a studio full of excited teenagers and it’s all noise, giggles and posing. I couldn’t love it more!
This group of friends were no exception and they were just full of fun. Each group gets up to four outfit changes in their two hour studio session and half of the fun is in the planning of the outfits. These girls had picked four themes – casual florals, jeans, onesies and formal dresses – and they rocked each one of them. They were all dancers as you can see from the jumping photo – they could get themselves into some pretty amazing shapes.
I guide them through all they need to do to get great group and individual photos (always keeping it age appropriate) and it’s amazing to watch their confidence in front of the camera grow over the course of the session. We mix up some silly giggly fun photos with a little bit of drama and posing to create a set of images that they will love to create and will be a lasting reminder of best friends being together.
