This is the newest addition to the studio prop collection, and it’s already proving popular. The little bouclé pod chair – if you’ve been looking at the blog recently, you may have spotted it already.

What I like about it practically is the shape. The bucket sides give a swaddled newborn really good support, which makes it a lot easier to work with than a flat surface or an open bowl. And because it’s a neutral cream, it styles easily in pretty much any direction.

For this session, we went with peach. Peach florals either side, a peach backdrop, a peach wrap. The brief was feminine without being pink, which is a brief I enjoy – there’s a lot of room to play in that space and it tends to photograph really well.

Mum and dad were there throughout, and their little boy – still under two – came along to join in at the end once his sister’s main session was done. Sensible approach. Toddlers and hour-long waits are not a natural combination.

Newborn Photography in East Grinstead

Newborn photo shoots are best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old. This is when they’re at their sleepiest and curliest, perfect for capturing those beautifully calm and natural images. I recommend booking while you’re still pregnant so we can set a provisional date and adjust once your baby arrives.

Your session takes place in my warm, cosy studio in Crawley Down, designed with your baby’s comfort in mind. Sessions are relaxed and unrushed, and include three digital images of your choice for £95. There’s no sales session, just a private online gallery where you can view and choose your favourites in your own time.
