My vintage suitcase prop has been with me for a while. I picked it up from a seller on eBay quite a few years ago in a very shabby state and restored it ready for the studio.
It’s actually really solid, as I found out when I was moving it while it was open and it shut, clocking me right in the eye. You have to suffer to create, I suppose. All was forgiven once it was finished though, because it really is a versatile piece.
Because it has a wooden frame, I can use it for all ages without any worry about it buckling. I use it regularly with older babies as well as newborns, as pictured here. It works with every backdrop, and you can accessorise it however you like to fit your style. I’ve used it with my birth announcement set, travel themed props, teddies, and of course silk flowers in all sorts of colours. It genuinely goes with anything.
