Many people choose pastel shades for their newborn’s photo shoot but the darker colours can offer a great contrast to that new baby delicacy.
This client asked for something a little bolder for their session and they wanted quite a lot of images in black and white. If you’re planning on hanging black and white pictures then I can definitely recommend a darker background as these translate beautifully to striking monochrome pictures.
I don’t limit the colour range or style of pictures when you come to visit – I see my job as creating the images that you want rather than persuading you that my colour choices are the right way to go. If you want strong simple images, great. If you want props and accessories, that’s great too. You’ll have the chance to let me know your preferences when you get your shoot options form the day before your session.
Newborn Photography
A newborn photo shoot is best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old as this is when they are at their maximum sleepiness and poseability to capture those dreamy shots. For this reason, I definitely recommend that you book when you are pregnant as this is one less thing to worry about scheduling when you’ve just got home from the hospital. We make an appointment for your due date plus 7 days and then adjust it as needed.
My newborn shoots include your three favourite digital images which you select from your online gallery a few weeks after your photo shoot – I don’t make you attend a sales or viewing session. Sessions take place in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down and cost £95.
