Flowers are just the perfect complement for the delicate beauty of a newborn baby and I quite often use them in my newborn photography.
I have quite a collection of different high quality silk flowers in the studio that I can delve into to create floral themed images if you’d like them. These delicate blush peach peonies are some of my favourite to use as they always seem to complement those newborn skin tones and you can work with them whilst the baby is snuggly wrapped which can be great if they’re taking a little bit of time to settle into their photo shoot. As it goes, this little girl was extremely sleepy and settled and more than happy to snooze while I gently moved and posed her in a variety of wraps, settings and props – she just looked too perfect to miss the chance of getting an image of her sleeping surrounding with flowers!
A newborn photo shoot is best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old as this is when they are at their maximum sleepiness and poseability to capture those dreamy shots. For this reason, I definitely recommend that you book when you are pregnant as this is one less thing to worry about scheduling when you’ve just got home from the hospital. We make an appointment for your due date plus 7 days and then adjust it as needed.
My newborn shoots include your three favourite digital images which you select from your online gallery a few weeks after your photo shoot – I don’t make you attend a sales or viewing session. Sessions take place in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down and cost £95.
