a mother's hands hold a newborn

When it comes to a newborn session, obviously I spend most of it creating images that include all of your baby!  However, there’s always time to focus in on some of those adorable details.

For example, those tiny feet and shell like fingernails, velvety ears and soft fluffy duck hairs.  When it comes to getting involved in the photos as a new parent, this can be a great time. Obviously we will carve out time in your photo shoot to make some more traditional family images but not every new mum and dad feels particularly camera ready.  Just adding your hands to the image can be a great way to capture your early days connection without you having to worry about getting ready for a photo shoot when you already have a lot on your mind.

It’s often the tiniest details that take your breath away.
Those perfect little fingers curled around yours. Tiny toes that fit in the palm of your hand. In newborn photography, capturing hands and feet isn’t just about completing the picture—it’s about preserving the precious details that change so quickly. These gentle close-ups add so much heart to your gallery, and they often become the images families treasure most.

Newborn Photography in East Grinstead

Newborn photo shoots are best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old—this is when they’re at their sleepiest and curliest, perfect for capturing those beautifully serene images. To ensure you don’t miss out, I recommend booking while you’re still pregnant—we’ll set a provisional date for a week after your due date and adjust if needed once your baby arrives.

Your session takes place in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down, designed for your baby’s comfort. The shoot is relaxed, unrushed, and includes three digital images of your choice, all for £95. There’s no sales session—just a private online gallery where you can view and select your favourites at your own pace.
