Newborn Photography East Grinstead West Sussex

I’ll be honest and say that my wooden hammock prop is not one that gets selected all that often. I’m not really sure why as it’s very cute!

I think a lot of it is that I have quite a range of props and so some are bound to be more popular than others.  So those popular props are then in the images that people see more frequently and so they’re more likely to choose them for their own photo shoot – it’s a cyclical thing. Anyway, it’s always a little treat when I get to get something out of storage that I’ve kind of forgotten about and this was definitely one of those occasions.  It’s an adorable little set up.

In terms of safety, obviously it’s quite a small prop compared to some like my beds and bowls but firstly I would only ever use it with a very settled baby and also, as with many of my set ups, there is always a parent very close at hand ready to keep things safe in the very unlikely event of a baby stirring.  I take them out of the finished image so it can appear like I’m just taking a chance but nope.  Safety first always…

Newborn Photography

A newborn photo shoot is best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old as this is when they are at their maximum sleepiness and poseability to capture those dreamy shots.  For this reason, I definitely recommend that you book when you are pregnant as this is one less thing to worry about scheduling when you’ve just got home from the hospital.   We make an appointment for your due date plus 7 days and then adjust it as needed.

My newborn shoots include your three favourite digital images which you select from your online gallery a few weeks after your photo shoot – I don’t make you attend a sales or viewing session.  Sessions take place in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down and cost £95.
