The day before your newborn session, you’ll receive my options form. It covers all the props and setups available and gives you space to tell me what you’re looking for, any colour preferences, themes, or particular images you have in mind.
It means the studio is ready to go when you arrive, and it gives you and your partner time to look through everything together and make decisions without any pressure on the day. It also lets me show you the full prop range, which wouldn’t really be possible in the studio as there’s far too much and I store it away between sessions.
One of the questions on the form is whether you have a colour palette in mind. This family wanted pinks and lilacs. We started on the beanbag with soft pinks and moved to the prop area in lilacs. The little trolley with the dark wood backdrop was an easy choice. There’s something about lilacs and newborns that always just works.
