Little Harry came to the visit my studio in Crawley Down (near East Grinstead) for his first official professional photos at his recent newborn photo shoot and he really was so good at his first ‘modelling assignment’. He even gave me a few little smiles into the bargain – what a pro!
We started off by creating his ‘birth announcement’ image – so we set up my props to include his date and time of birth, his name and his birth weight. A lovely way to share all those details that your friends and family will want to know and would also make the perfect birth announcement card, christening invitation or even wall art for the nursery. Once we had this photo captured, it was off onto the comfy bean bag for more posing and dressing up with Harry only stopping to register the fact that he needed a quick feed before happily dozing off again. At the end of his session, he was happy to be awake and stay cosy wrapped in my blankets for us to capture some lovely shots of him with his eyes open which is always a lovely addition to a newborn photo shoot set of images.
A newborn photo shoot is best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old as this is when they are at their maximum sleepiness and poseability to capture those dreamy shots. For this reason, I definitely recommend that you book when you are pregnant as this is one less thing to worry about scheduling when you’ve just got home from the hospital. We make an appointment for your due date plus 7 days and then adjust it as needed.
My newborn shoots include your three favourite digital images which you select from your online gallery a few weeks after your photo shoot – I don’t make you attend a sales or viewing session. Sessions take place in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down and cost £95.
