This little wooden hammock prop went quiet for a while and then suddenly everyone wanted it.

That’s how it goes sometimes.  Props have their moment, step back, and then come around again. It’s back firmly in rotation and it’s easy to see why. The crossed wood frame gives the image a bit of structure and interest without competing with the baby at all.

It pairs really well with neutral tones, which is currently the most popular request coming through the door. More than half of families ask for neutral colours regardless of whether they’re having a boy or a girl, and that trend has been consistent for a while now.

Neutral doesn’t mean boring. What it does mean is flexibility. When you’re not committing to a strong colour, you can bring in more texture, different wraps, layered fabrics, varied props, and the whole focus stays on your baby rather than the styling around them. Which is, of course, the point.

Newborn Photography in East Grinstead

The best time for your baby’s newborn session is between five and ten days old, when they’re at their sleepiest and curliest and those calm, natural images come easiest. I’d recommend booking while you’re still pregnant, so we can pencil in a provisional date and adjust once your baby arrives.

Your session takes place in my warm, cosy studio in Crawley Down, designed with your baby’s comfort in mind. Sessions are relaxed and unrushed, and include three digital images of your choice for £95. There’s no sales session, just a private online gallery where you can view and choose your favourites in your own time.
