The Harry Potter set is one of my favourites to bring out, and a newborn in it is always going to be a good session.
The full version of the set includes a large trunk, but that tends to take over when you’re photographing a newborn, so for the tiniest visitors I scale it back. The house bunting, the Gryffindor scarf, the books, the glasses, and of course Hedwig. All the important elements, minus the thing that would dwarf your baby completely.
This little wizard was very settled, so we got plenty of images on the beanbag first before moving over to something a little more Hogwarts. His mum and dad are fellow Potterheads, which made the whole thing even more fun.
If there’s a fandom, a book series, or something your family loves, it’s always worth asking whether we can work it in. This is exactly the kind of session that personal props and themes were made for.
