So you can’t have failed to notice that flamingos are everywhere at the moment, along with mermaids and unicorns.  Honestly, this has to be one of my favourite periods for fashion trends as I just love all three. So imagine my delight when a little flamingo prop turned up at one of my newborn shoots recently – simply couldn’t resist getting him in on the action with this cheeky little pose!

Of course, we also took lots of non tropical bird related pictures – even some with her big sister (doesn’t seem that long since she was on my newborn beanbag herself – doesn’t time fly?).  Where siblings are involved and when they’re still quite small themselves, a newborn session can be a very long and boring affair with lots of sitting still required. So I always recommend that they go off with dad for a while to let us capture the newborn images and they can return and join us when they are fresh for a few pictures.  Makes the session a lot more relaxing for parents too when they don’t have to worry about keeping a fidgety toddler happy!

Newborn Photography

A newborn photo shoot is best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old as this is when they are at their maximum sleepiness and poseability to capture those dreamy shots.  For this reason, I definitely recommend that you book when you are pregnant as this is one less thing to worry about scheduling when you’ve just got home from the hospital.   We make an appointment for your due date plus 7 days and then adjust it as needed.

My newborn shoots include your five favourite digital images which you select from your online gallery a few weeks after your photo shoot – I don’t make you attend a sales or viewing session.  You can choose to have your session in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down (£95) or I can come to your home (£125)
