This prop is one I spotted online a while ago and fell for immediately. It always surprises me a little that it doesn’t get requested more often.

The honest reason is probably that props like this are hard to picture empty. On its own it doesn’t look like much, but with a baby settled in it the whole thing just works. That’s true of quite a few of my props actually. They need a baby in them to make sense.

It’s a flexible prop too, which matters. Not every baby is comfortable in every position, so I always work with what they’re happy with rather than forcing a pose. It also styles well in all sorts of ways, plain, with florals, with teddies, and pretty much anything in between.

One thing worth knowing: any time your baby is off the ground during a session, there is always a parent right there just out of shot. Safety is always the priority.

Newborn Photography in East Grinstead

Newborn photo shoots are best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old. This is when they’re at their sleepiest and curliest, perfect for capturing those beautifully calm and natural images. I recommend booking while you’re still pregnant so we can set a provisional date and adjust once your baby arrives.

Your session takes place in my warm, cosy studio in Crawley Down, designed with your baby’s comfort in mind. Sessions are relaxed and unrushed, and include three digital images of your choice for £95. There’s no sales session, just a private online gallery where you can view and choose your favourites in your own time.
