This mum came in with a straightforward realisation. Her daughter was around five months old and there were plenty of photos of her – with dad, with grandparents, with friends. But barely any of the two of them together. Mum was always the one behind the phone.

So she booked a session to fix that. No big occasion, no milestone, just a morning in the studio getting some proper photos of the two of them together.

It’s more common than you’d think. Mums tend to document everything and appear in very little of it. A dedicated mum and me session is a good way to sort that out in one go – a proper set of images, taken properly, that actually do justice to what those early months look like.

Her daughter was five months old, alert, and had a lot to say for herself. They were good company.
