Partners are always welcome at maternity sessions, and a lot of couples choose to include some shots together alongside the solo portraits.
The silhouette style works particularly well for couples. It strips everything back to shape and connection, and it tends to feel a lot less awkward than a more posed approach for anyone who isn’t naturally comfortable in front of a camera. If your partner is the type who would rather be behind the lens than in front of it, this is often the one that wins them over.
A maternity session is one of the last chances to photograph the two of you before everything changes, which makes the couple shots worth including even if it’s not the main focus of the session. You don’t need to do anything in particular. Just being together in the same frame is enough.
I’ll guide you through it. No experience required on either side.
