Newborn Photography in East Grinstead

During the Covid years, I introduced an options form so parents could let me know ahead of time the kind of newborn photographs that they’d like to create.

It minimised time in the studio and allowed me to keep props safely in storage until they were needed. It wasn’t until I had this system in place that I realised just how much I should have done it years ago.  It means that you get more time to decide on what you’d like rather than having to make snap decisions in the studio and also really does give me a much more detailed idea of what kind of photography that you’d like to create so I can tailor your session to you.

One word that I kept seeing come up over and over again was lifestyle and it became pretty clear that some folk wanted to create newborn images that had a much more natural, at home feel and so I designed this lifestyle newborn set up.  It includes a bed, and a Moses basket – so items that you’d have at home and allows us to create natural images while retaining the great quality that I can offer at the studio in terms of lighting, posing and accessories. Plus you don’t have to worry about whether your actual duvet cover needs an iron as I’m going to take care of all of that for you!

When you’ve booked a newborn session, you’ll receive your options form the day before and you can choose between a traditional and lifestyle set up.  If you’re going with the lifestyle, the bed and basket will be waiting for you when you arrive.

Want to find out more about the difference between traditional and lifestyle newborn photography?

I offer two main styles of photography when you book for a newborn photo shoot at my studio and there are some differences between the two.  You’ll be able to choose between them before you come to visit so check out my comprehensive article and see which one suits you best!

Newborn Photography in East Grinstead

Newborn photo shoots are best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old—this is when they’re at their sleepiest and curliest, perfect for capturing those beautifully serene images. To ensure you don’t miss out, I recommend booking while you’re still pregnant—we’ll set a provisional date for a week after your due date and adjust if needed once your baby arrives.

Your session takes place in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down, designed for your baby’s comfort. The shoot is relaxed, unrushed, and includes three digital images of your choice, all for £95. There’s no sales session—just a private online gallery where you can view and select your favourites at your own pace.
