Some of the reason that folk put off having a maternity photo shoot is the thought of having to strip off in a studio to be photographed.
Now, while I do think that underwear shots can look amazing, I definitely realise that this isn’t the style that everyone wants to go for. What’s more, it certainly isn’t necessary to take off your clothes to get great maternity photo shoots. I’m never going to expect it of you although I’m here for you if you want to.

Staying covered doesn’t limit what we can do in a session. Soft flowing dresses, fitted jersey fabrics, layered knitwear, all of these can work really well and can show off the shape of a bump beautifully without any exposure at all.
My studio wardrobe includes a range of maternity gowns in different styles, and you’re also welcome to bring your own outfits. Fabrics like lace, jersey, and chiffon tend to photograph particularly well. If you’re unsure what to bring, just ask and I can advise based on what you’re going for.
Lighting and posing make an enormous difference to how fully-clothed maternity photos look. Soft light, flattering angles, and the right positioning can produce images that are just as striking as anything more exposed. There are no poses that require you to show more than you’re comfortable with.
If you have a particular style or theme in mind, just mention it when we’re planning the session and we’ll build it around what works for you.
