Some props come into the studio for a specific event and then move on. This one didn’t make it out of the door.
The Floral Crates backdrop came in for Mother’s Day and I fell a little bit in love with it, so it’s staying. It’s now part of the permanent collection and I’m really glad it is.
It’s a full floral arch – peonies, roses, trailing greenery – framing a set of rustic wooden crates at different heights, with vintage-style lanterns tucked in amongst them. It’s got that garden party feel to it, warm and romantic without being over the top. The kind of set that feels like somewhere you’d actually want to spend an afternoon.
It works beautifully for family sessions and for babies from around six months upwards — once your baby is sitting confidently and taking in the world around them. The crates give lovely natural height variation for group shots, and the florals frame everything without overwhelming it.
Where it really comes into its own is paired with the vintage floral collection. Soft florals in the outfits, soft florals in the set — it all pulls together into something that feels very considered without anyone having to try too hard.
If you’ve been thinking about a family session or a milestone shoot and you love this kind of look, this backdrop is going to be around for a while. Worth bearing in mind when you’re planning.
