Rainbow cake smash first birthday shootschool photos in west sussex

This one started at a first birthday tub splash. Big colourful balloons, rubber ducks, the zinc tub, the bubble machine going full pelt, and a baby absolutely beside herself with joy. Bright, bold, and very her.

She’s been coming back ever since.

The school photo idea came along as she grew, each time she moved up, starting primary, then juniors, then high school, she came in for a new photo holding the framed print from the one before. An infinity photo. Each image contains the last, going back further and further the longer the series runs.

She’s now in high school, holding a framed photo of herself at junior school, which contains a photo of her at primary school. In a few years, that high school photo will be in the next frame.

It’s a simple idea and a really satisfying one to watch develop. If you’ve got a child at a school transition point, it’s not too late to start the series. The first one just needs to exist.
