I spent a massive amount of time designing every aspect of my fairy photography experience and the wings were a really tough one to get right.
The dresses came together pretty quickly and the set was just a huge amount of fun but I’ve had so many versions of the wings. The first ones were shop bought and nowhere near magical enough, the second ones I made myself and they looked beautiful. Until you photographed them and then they looked absolutely rubbish in the finished images. Bit of a downer that one! Then I stumbled across the idea of using skeleton leaves and I fell instantly in love with the concept of using a natural item, that looked so delicate to make fairy wings. Just perfect I thought!
However, it was a bit of a struggle to come up with the structure and construction method that meant that they retained the appearance of delicacy while still being able to take the punishment that fairy wear can sometimes give. So this improved and expanded collection of fairy wings are the result of years of experimenting and changing and I’m finally happy. Very proud of these beauties!
