Dogs are more than pets. They’re part of the family, with their own personalities, quirks, and ways of making you smile. Capturing all of that is what I love most about dog photography.
My studio in Crawley Down is a calm, relaxed space where your dog can just be themselves, and that’s exactly where the best portraits come from.

What Makes Studio Dog Photography Special?
When you come to the studio, there are no distractions, no other dogs, and no unpredictable weather. Your dog gets to settle in at their own pace, and I get to focus entirely on them.
I have a range of backdrops and props so we can go anywhere from a clean, classic portrait to something a bit more fun and themed. The lighting is set up to suit your dog’s colouring and features, so whether they have a sleek dark coat or a big fluffy one, we’ll get the details just right.

What to Expect During a Dog Photography Session
From the moment you arrive, my priority is making sure you both feel comfortable. Here’s roughly how a session goes.
We start by giving your dog time to explore the studio and get used to the space. I’ll meet them at their pace, whether that means a handful of treats, a bit of a fuss, or just sitting quietly and letting them come to me.
Once they’re settled, we work with whatever they’re giving us. Every dog is different. Some sit beautifully on command. Others have their own ideas. Either way, I’ll adapt and we’ll find what works for them.
You’re very welcome to be in a few shots too, if you’d like. If you’re thinking about including the whole family, it’s worth booking a family portrait session so we have plenty of time and space for everyone.
Throughout the session we’ll capture a mix of images, from close-up portraits to full-body shots, and anything fun or candid that happens along the way. You’re welcome to bring props or accessories from home if there’s something that feels very them.

Preparing for Your Session
A little bit of prep goes a long way. A good walk or play session before you arrive helps your dog burn off any excess energy and arrive in a more relaxed frame of mind. Bring treats and a favourite toy so you have something to hold their attention. A quick brush beforehand is worth doing, especially if their coat tangles easily. And if your dog wears a collar or harness, make sure it’s clean and fits well as it may feature in some of the photos.
Why Choose Me for Your Dog’s Photography?
I’ve been photographing dogs for over 20 years, and I’ve worked with every temperament you can imagine, from the bouncy and excitable to the nervous and shy. I’m patient, I’m a dog person, and I genuinely love this part of my work.
Not every dog will sit still on cue, and that’s absolutely fine. I’m here to work with your dog, not against them, and that’s how we end up with portraits that really look like them.
A Lasting Memory of Your Best Friend
The bond between you and your dog is something worth celebrating. Whether it’s a standalone session or part of a family shoot, dog photography is a lovely way to honour the place your dog holds in your life.
