Dog photography, much like newborn photography, is always an adventure. Dogs have their own agenda and getting them on board is half the fun.
Ozzy was a lively one. Sitting still was pretty low on his list of priorities when there was a whole studio to explore. Can’t blame him, but it did keep me on my toes. A good supply of treats and the ability to work quickly meant we still managed to capture him against several different backgrounds.
This classic fine art canvas is one of my favourites for dog photography. I also have it in blue-grey, which works beautifully for dogs with cooler fur tones. It’s neutral enough not to compete with the dog, but warm enough to complement them rather than just disappear.
