When Star visited the studio, her natural ease in front of the lens shone through from the very start.
We explored a variety of styles — clean white backdrops, dramatic black, and everything in between — but one of my favourites was using a rich, brown fine-art background. It perfectly highlighted her colouring and soft pink dress. The rose in her hands? Just a little flourish for drama, because I believe these finishing touches can turn a sweet portrait into something timeless.
My children’s fine art portrait sessions are all about tenderness and beauty. Rather than busy props or distractions, I focus on soft lighting, elegant simplicity, and capturing personality in light, shadow, texture, and expression. If your child is naturally shy, adventurous, silly, or sweet – those qualities are what make each portrait unique, and those are what I aim to reveal in a fine art portrait.
Sessions take place in my warm, inviting studio in Crawley Down, and are perfect for up to two adults with three children (please do get in touch if your group is larger). The session fee of £95 covers the creative portrait experience and includes three fine art digital images. There’s no viewing or sales event – you’ll simply view and select your favourites from a private online gallery, then order prints or additional images if you wish.
