Sofia has been coming to visit me since before she was born when her mum came to visit for her maternity photo shoot so it was a bittersweet thing to finish her Joey Club sessions with a cake smash and tub splash shoot.

Her mum had picked out the perfect outfit for her to smash her cake in – just perfect in pink!  There are so many great cake smash outfits commercially available today and there are even Facebook groups where you can pick up a bargain once they’ve been used and washed – a lot of babies don’t get much cake on them at all!  We also tried the tub splash portion of the session but apparently Sofia had decided a couple of weeks prior that baths were no longer her favourite thing so we didn’t get quite so many images in the tub before she decided that she was done.  Still it was enough to create a lovely set of images to celebrate this little one’s first birthday.  You never can tell what babies are going to do on the day and having the two parts of the session with the smash and the splash usually means that if they’re not feeling so much love for one, we have something different to do with them to get images you’ll love.
