This big sister has been coming to the studio since she was quite small herself, but this was the first time she came along to introduce her brand new baby brother.

Siblings are always welcome to join in at a newborn session. We always work to their comfort level when it comes to posing them with the new arrival. This big sister was confident and gave her brother exactly the right level of support, so a seated pose worked well. When children are younger or less sure about holding a newborn safely, we work with everyone lying on the floor instead. That way there’s nothing to worry about other than getting a good expression. Either way, a parent is always just out of shot and ready to step in if needed. Safety first, always.

Including Siblings in Your Newborn Session

Including an older sibling in your newborn session is a really nice way to mark the start of life as a bigger family. Whether your little one is keen to be involved or needs a bit of warming up, I’ll work with however they’re feeling on the day to get the best out of the session. There’s no pressure and no rush — we’ll find the right moment.

Newborn Photography in East Grinstead

Newborn photo shoots are best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old. This is when they’re at their sleepiest and curliest, perfect for capturing those beautifully calm and natural images. I recommend booking while you’re still pregnant so we can set a provisional date and adjust once your baby arrives.

Your session takes place in my warm, cosy studio in Crawley Down, designed with your baby’s comfort in mind. Sessions are relaxed and unrushed, and include three digital images of your choice for £95. There’s no sales session, just a private online gallery where you can view and choose your favourites in your own time.
