Not everyone wants to cake smash for a first birthday and there’s still lots of great images you can create at your session to mark the occasion.

We set up this little shot at a family portrait session that was designed to capture everyone together as well as some of the birthday boy himself.  I have a few props along a ‘one’ theme including the ones pictured above.  To be totally truthful, it’s a very tricky business to get a picture with all of the letters standing upright but this little guy was a pro model and was just thrilled to be posing with them.  Sometimes, life gives you little gifts and you have to take time to appreciate them.
