Baby Photo Shoot Posing

My studio is set up to photography babies of all ages and with that comes the need for some posing assistance for those that aren’t completely independent in terms of sitting up yet.

I have a specially designed horseshoe posing cushion which offers complete support for babies who are still at the earliest stage of working on their skills.  In this case though, this little lady was almost there but not quite steady enough to be trusted on a hard surface or without a little bit of support. In cases like these, we use my giant beanbag so the landing is soft if they do have a topple and also add in a little extra support in the form of a long beanbag cushion which I mean into a kind of doughnut.  When they’re nearly steady, this is usually enough to give them just that boost they need to be able to comfortably support themselves.  In any case, there’s always a parent close by just out of shot to keep a watchful eye and a steading hand on proceedings.
