Little Fraser is still a very tiny little boy at about four weeks old but bizarrely enough, he’s a bit too old for a newborn photo shoot. After a couple of weeks, your baby is already very engaged with the world around them so moving them while they are sleeping becomes difficult if not impossible. Ideally a newborn photo shoot should take place when your little one is between 5 and 10 days old and definitely before they are two weeks old. Still, that’s not to say that there aren’t beautiful photos to be had if you miss that short window.
His Mum and Dad had been to me a few years ago with Fraser’s big sister and this time they wanted to get some pictures of their new arrival but decided that, as they were later in booking, to go for a family portrait instead. We did manage to get a few pictures of Fraser while he was sleeping but he was soon wide awake and so we simply worked with that. He had very beautiful eyes that’s for sure.
He had to have a few little snack breaks to keep him settled which is to be expected but on the whole, he was happy to relax on my giant beanbag and have his picture taken (with the baby hammock just adding a little extra leisure time for him). We also managed to get some of him with his big sister to complete the family picture.
Family Photography
A family photo shoot in my warm and welcoming studio in Crawley Down is suitable for groups of up to two adults and three children (please call me to discuss before booking if your group is larger than this). The session fee includes three digital images and costs £95. As with all of my photography, there’s no sales or viewing meeting to attend – you simply view and order what you would like from your private online gallery. Here’s a link to my digital and print pricing.
