I’m lucky enough to see a lot of siblings come through the studio as part of my baby photography club as people grow their families over the years.

Of course siblings have an identity in their own right and so we always photograph them to capture their own unique personalities but it’s quite nice to pay a little nod to previous sessions – whether it be in terms of posing, props or special items that we include. In the case of this guy, he has a very clever great grandma who knits one of these blankets for each new arrival into the family and we photographed his big brother with his a couple of years ago.  So we wanted to recreate something similar when he came to visit for his session – it’s lovely to see the comparison between the two children at similar ages and they can look great when hanging on your wall together.

So if you’re visiting with your second (or third, or fourth!) child and you’ve been a member of the Joey Club before, then it’s worth taking a little look back at earlier sessions and see if there’s anything you want to mirror with your newest arrival.
