All babies develop at different rates of course but by the time that your baby comes to visit for their first baby photography club session, I usually recommend that they be confident tummy timers.
Reaching this milestone will mean that you get more variety in your finished pictures. However, this is a pretty tiring thing for them to do when they are so little so I always make sure to schedule in a bit of chill out time in the photo shoot when they can just relax and enjoy my giant bean bag while they get their pictures taken. Austin certainly enjoyed this as you can tell by the cheekiness of his smile!
I also have a couple of different options that let them sit up whilst remaining supported that we use in the session too – not all babies like all poses so there’s always different options to suit your little one and their mood on the day.
Austin’s mum, as a side note, does something very smart when she comes to visit and thinks about how she wants the colour scheme of the photos to blend in with her home decor. Then we can create images using my backdrops and props, plus her outfits to match in with that so they will look perfect when hung on her wall. It’s always worth thinking about where you’d like your photos to end up so we can create images that blend in with and enhance your home’s look and feel.
