From a smiling princess yesterday to a sleeping princess today. Newborn photo shoots are a totally different animal when compared to shoots with mobile babies and young children.
They are calm, warm and quiet sessions where make sure your baby is in a dreamy sleep so I can move and pose them without disturbing them. Of course, it doesn’t always work out like that as newborns can be just as independent minded as toddlers but in this case, this little lady was happy to snooze and pose for me. So she definitely deserved a crown (as all good princesses do).
Her mum and dad particularly enjoyed black and white images so we went with a black backddrop – it’s a striking contrast when the images are in colour but also of course converts beautifully to black and white if that’s your preference. When you see your finished newborn gallery of images, they will be in colour with some black and white copies included to give you an idea of how the image will translate. If you’d like to order a colour image in black and white, you simply have to let me know and I will make the conversion for you.
Newborn Photography
A newborn photo shoot is best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old as this is when they are at their maximum sleepiness and poseability to capture those dreamy shots. For this reason, I definitely recommend that you book when you are pregnant as this is one less thing to worry about scheduling when you’ve just got home from the hospital. We make an appointment for your due date plus 7 days and then adjust it as needed.
My newborn shoots include your three favourite digital images which you select from your online gallery a few weeks after your photo shoot – I don’t make you attend a sales or viewing session. Sessions take place in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down and cost £95.
