Some parents come in with a vague idea and we build it together. Others arrive with everything planned down to the last detail. This mum was very much in the second camp and the results speak for themselves.
The whole session was coordinated in warm neutrals. Cream macramé tassel bunting, white shutter backdrop, the little bear crochet top that matched the palette perfectly, and a cake that pulled everything together. A Biscoff cake, decorated with biscuits and gold accents, that smelled extraordinary and that he was very much in favour of.
The session covered a lot of ground, family portraits first, then photos with his big brother and sister, then the cake smash, a break to actually enjoy the cake, and then the tub splash to round things off. That’s a proper first birthday session and there’s genuinely time to do all of it without rushing. The break in the middle is important. A one-year-old covered in cake who’s also a bit hungry is nobody’s friend.
He was brilliant throughout. That expression is a boy who knows exactly what he’s doing with a cake.
